Animatic for a scene in the game ZeroSpace.

What I love about this animatic is that it's a great example of the collaboration I do with the layout artists on our team. We have an amazing back-and-forth where I can give effective & efficient feedback on initial camera passes & timing in the form of animatics using storyboards. This animatic was created within a 24 hour turnaround time.

“Of Two Minds”

Storyboards for a cutscene in “Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons”.

These storyboards were created to help our layout artists & mocap actors figure out cameras, timing, blocking, etc. One of the challenges that I had to tackle with this particular scene was that we weren’t sure how to go from gameplay into the cutscene. Due to the nature of how cutscenes worked in Guild Wars 2, we needed a way for the player to be “brought in” to the cutscene without the actual player character themself showing up in the scene due to scope constraints. Having one of the player’s companions, Taimi, run in ahead of the player ended up solving this issue efficiently. These storyboards were created within a 3 day turnaround time.
